Caught between unfolding and falling, petrified jute lays on the floor. Thrown aside, to the walls of the exhibition space, this seemingly worthless material is, at a closer look, cast in bronze. As if transubstantiated, the worthless jute cloth is paradoxically valuable.

Starting point for this work is the relational tensions between cultural significance and material value. Inconsistencies regarding the intersection and divergence of these subjects are played out in the formal relationships between materials.
