“Aufsteigend”
Group Exhibition in the Kleine Orangerie at the Charlottenburg Palace Berlin
2025
Marble, Limestone and Serpentinite

The group exhibition “Aufsteigend” (Acending in German), presents sculptural possitions in the Kleine Orangerie at the Charlottenburg Palace in Berlin. The 18th Century Orangerie, orginally built to house King Wilhelm II’s Orange trees, is still in use today. During the summer months the Kleine Orangerie at Charlottenburg Palace is temporarily transfomed into an exhibition space by the Department of Culture of the Berlin district Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf.

Curated by Oliver Möst, the exhbition features recent sculptural works by Yasmin Alt, Joshua Zielinski, and Elisabeth Sonneck. Each of Berlin-based artists explore the relationships between of object, space, and architecture in distinct ways.

Alt creats temporary structures and combines them with formed natural materials. Creating links to stage design, Sculpure and architecture. Zielinski reworks used stone blocks into sculptures, leaving traces of the past  and questioning ideas of permanence and value. Sonneck extends the understanding of painting through creating a temporary immersive large-scale installation that utilizes the uniqueness of the architecture.
